Reduce old stock and build the weekly sales table
You are a learner on placement at the Carrum Downs op shop.
What has happened
Bao Tran has two jobs for you this week. The first is the red tag round: the Op Shop Donation Sorting and Pricing Procedure says anything on the floor for four weeks or more is reduced by half and marked with a red tag, and every tag shows the date it went out. Today is 17 September. The second is the committee report. The committee wants to see the last four weeks of op shop sales and the number of donation bags sorted each week in a simple table and a bar chart. The figures are in the Cafe and Shop Daily Log and on the daily sheets: sales of $1,980, $2,240, $2,150 and $2,410, and bags sorted of 105, 132, 120 and 141.
Deliverables
- Red tag price calculations with working shown

- Sales and bags sorted table
- Bar chart with title, axes and scale

Evidence guide
Check the cut-off date is correct, the half prices are right including amounts with 50 cents, and the tags are clearly written. The table must have a heading, dates and units, and the chart must have a title, labelled axes and a consistent scale that matches the data. The summary must state the total and the busiest week correctly. Look for safe handling of stock as described in the procedure.
